but the points you've been making are hardly in the "nit" category. All-in-all a worthy analysis of a situation we have to pay a lot more attention to. Personally, I think we should overtly encourage/assist them - with more than paltry diplomatic pressure on Syria. If Lebanon were to recover from its current troubles and return to its pre-civil war status it would be another opposing influence countering the Islamist goals of a region dominated by fundametalist movements.
