I did the same. Between then and now 3 of 4 members of my household have been through
several thousand rounds of various calibers in practice and in shooting leagues. I don't worry much about the outcome of bad guys knocking in the middle of the night.
Sadly, this was before that horrible boating accident where all those guns sank to the bottom of the lake...
