I recently bought a pair of LALO's Shadow Amphibian boots; they were 250$ on GovX and are 100$ more on the civilian market. The website claims they're the "Ultimate Special Forces Tactical Boot," but I'm not so sure. First big issue I have is, they are not even close to AR 670-1 compliant. I suppose they're intended for men already graduated from the course but I've been told repeatedly that the cadre at selection don't care; is this true?

The question that i'm ultimately asking is: How do they hold up? Has anyone fielded these over a long period of time? Are they expensive paperweights or will they make it through selection, and if so, are they better than other boots?
Even in the Special Forces we are supposed to be 670-1 compliant a good SGM and TM Sgt will crush you for it and I have seen it happen rightfully so.....the boots don't make the man. I miraculously passed with good old fashioned army issue boots with no SFPC or any other teaching to the test and no advice from GB's trying to give me the answer to the course I never asked.....I hate it when future GB's try to game the system

If you are so worried about making it that you feel you need to spend $250 on a pair of power boots then maybe you should stay home. I love the goochie idiots who spend loads of money on crap gear like Rucksacks with more room...as a cadre if SWCS allowed them they could carry more weight and believe me when I say the squad loves to abuse a pack mule.......but it doesn't help the student pass he still has to do his job and for me as a cadre I paid closer attention to that stud because that is a bad trait that screams no confidence in the ability to learn and execute....like it or not that is just the way it is.
