What a difference an election makes.
Ex NORTHERN LIGHTNING kicked off. F-16s/F-22s/(alleged) F-35s roaring around the area. Ahh, the sound of Jet Noise. And of course the big flying gas stations & other players that come & go. They have these rolling threat-emitter systems they'll be travelling the state with to raise the "I'm so shit-hot" guys' pucker factor.
Couple recent articles mentioned Truax Fld in Madison & Volk Field up here as candidates for an F-22 squadron basing. Hope they come up here, the Gasthaus across the highway from the front gate there would love to go back into its former glory; their Rindsrouladen was top-notch. Could happen with the nice 10,000 ft runway & elec systems in place, as well as the fact that the People's DemoSocialist Enclave of Madison already likes to complain about that infernal jet noise from the existing F-16 traffic - what they get for being educated at the University of Whiners.
Meanwhile... the noise beats a local kid with his wannabe street-racer anyday.
