Introduction Post
Hello, members of this forum. In an effort to respect the formalities of this site, here's an introductory post.
My name is Steven. I filled out my profile as requested, so the simpler information that you might be interested in is where it should be, but nonetheless I'll go into detail. I'm 15, a freshman in high school. Honor Roll student, part of my schools Army JROTC program. My father was in the Army, though it's been years since I've spoken to him, and I've forgotten details on his behalf. My grandfather was an E4 in the Marine Corp, toured the Philippines in the early 80's I believe. My uncle an E5 in the Marine Corp, toured in Iraq and served from '02 to '10. These two men shaped my respect and admiration for the armed forces, along with other family members of mine.
I came to this site in the hopes of gathering information. So far, the information vastly exceeded my expectations. I do plan on joining the Army. I feel in myself that there is no reason I couldn't make it, and I believe I have the mental fortitude to excell. The Special Forces, I strive for. I don't know If I have what it takes to join the Quiet Professionals when my time comes, but every fiber of my being will put forth the effort to fill the space needed. If I don't make it, I won't feel as though I've failed; it will be a learning experience nonetheless, and I'll grow from it. But if I do, I'll see it as a new milestone reached, with an infinite amount more to surpass within my career.
Though, I still have quite a bit of life to go through before I truly know what will become of me. As I am 15, and the Board Rules discourage posting from my age group, I shall try to keep my posting to a minimum.
~Steven~
