On a side note I just purchased and installed one of these in my truck (f150) and I love it. It's at the perfect position to draw from. I didn't install it directly under the center of the steering wheel but rather just to the right of it.
Due to the design of my truck mounting it at the normal location put it way too high and it was a chore drawing it and not getting caught up by the steering column. Just to the right of the steering wheel was another location that just fit perfect. Pic is not my truck but rather the standard mounting location.
