How old is your Crossbreed? I'm also a less tall guy and wear mine with a USPc .45 all the time. I assume that it does push against my ribcage, but I've never noticed it. As to length, I carry at 3:00 canted forward a bit and the clips are at roughly 2:00 to 4:00.
As to wearing it with a Suit and Tie...what's that mean?
OK, I recently tucked it with a t-shirt just to try it and it's fine. I could even fluff out the shirt at the waistline to help hide it. A tucked in t-shirt looks funny, but a dress shirt would be fine.
And as ABC_123 said, it's
extremely comfortable.
ETA: I just measured mine and the waistband length is 8 1/2".
