Intro
Good morning,
My name's Keith and I am a "former" Marine 2621 (SIGINT) guy who happened to re-enlist in the army. I served in 1st Radio Batallion at KBay with the MEWSS element which is (or was) attached to the 1st Light Armored Recon guys (LAVs n such). No MEU deployments; just details here and there and 4 CAX exercises at 29 stumps in two different iterations (they go back to back). It was the late '90s.
In the Army I was with 1st Infantry Division, 2nd BCT, 101 MI BN. We deployed during the surge to Iraq and accept for a number of TST missions where I was the 240b gunner on a hummer with a hand me down asset from guys here, I was mostly a fobbit preparing a HUMINT summary. I enjoyed the work. It had a huge customer base and I got left alone.
Any how I am a SFAS casualty from 2005. I self assessed as being 5'3" the rucking was too much and I figured I wouldnt make the time allotted for the STAR course seeing people literally run by me (and I was getting slow...). It was my own fault. I did not ruck as much as I should have. Very dumb thinking back on it.
I am grateful to be able to partake in this forum. The stories and information are outstanding, at least in my humble opinion.
Thank you, and Semper Fi.
