Absolutly.
When a bought a rem 700 5r in .308, it wAs because it closely resembled the Charistriistics of the M24. However, it was a short action which does not allow for a clip-on nV device, doesnt Accept mags with out a couple hundred dollar mAg well adaptor, is not adaptable with stocks, and lets face it... The .308 is old and tired. The rest of the shooting community has moved on to other rounds such as the 6.5 cm.
This rifle is not a benchrest beauty. Its a out of the box percision rifle (sub moa) for under a grand which is very highly adaptable.
