Revolvers cannot be suppressed, and fully functioning semis cannot as the escaping gasses from the cycling will cause noise problems. Some delayed blow back ones will though. However you are then using full pressed ammo and that also causes problems at pistol ranges.

Alternative is the suppressed Hi Standard.

There is a revolver that can be successfully suppressed. The Nagant, designed by the Belgian gunmaker who also collaborated in the design of the Moisin-Nagant rifle used by the Russians for many years. The revolver has a clever gas seal and was used in a silenced form by the KGB for many decades. I understand these revolvers were readily available in the US as cheap surplus guns. I imagine that the special ammo may be difficult to find.
