Crude home project

Couple of weeks ago the GF's grandson was over helping me in the shop. He's always wanting to make something. He asked if there was any way we could make a knife. I looked around, found an old lawnmower blade and we got to work. Helped him cut it down, then drew out a form and he began grinding. He worked all afternoon with some help from me at times then we found an old broken oak hammer handle. After a lot of grinding, sanding, polishing, etc. this is what he ended up with. I cut the pattern for the sheath and he sewed it up...Not bad for a 12 year old.
