Good article.
This is an example of Islam's ability to work with other 'concepts' and how well it accommodates.
This is region wide and not to be blamed on a Nations culture or a specific religious/political group. Religious/political is redundant when discussing Islam anyways.
The 'oppression' of any other religion consists of murder, kidnapping, rape, arson and collusion between government officials, the police and military.
The police and military stand by and watch the arson/murder etc. and the Govt. passes laws that do not allow the building of any new Churches or the open display of any religious items other than Islamic ones.
This happens thru out the ME, in Indonesia and our fine Stans to include Astan.
