HIPPA Info Release Forms
Something I noticed when I went for a check on my heart a few months ago was the hospital forms had one that basically has the patient signing an understanding of HIPPA laws, but that Law Enforcement Agencies can obtain this information during the course of an investigation.
To me, it was the hospital getting a patient signature on a document to limit their liability if the patient's records were released.
As we watch what is happening with gun control, we can see where the Feds are attacking on seevral fronts. The use of "health concerns" and "enviornmental concerns" with the CDC and EPA are being fired up for greater use.
New York State is using pharmacy prescriptions to review a permit holder's eligibility, I have been told.
What happens when a family member is prescribed medication that falls into the "mental health" net being cast very wide? Does the NY State permit holder have to surrender their guns because the family member resides under the same roof? What about those people that rent and share a common address?
