It looks like Taurus of Brazil is shaping up to be the likely buyer for the Freedom Group. If Taurus wins the bid, that means a good chunk of formerly American gun companies will become foreign owned. Here's a list of companies that Taurus would own:

Bushmaster
Remington LE
Marlin
H&R
Dakota Arms
Tapco
DPMS
Parker Gunmakers
Barnes Bullets
Advanced Armament Corp.
Para USA
Remington PMPD
Mountain Khakis
Some of those companies I have never heard of but Remington, Marlin, & Bushmaster...those are some pretty iconic names in the history of guns and this county. I like Taurus but I'm not sure I like them this much! |
Wow.........sounds like a bigger version of what Beretta's been doing in Europe in recent years....much bigger.
Fortunately Savage is not on that list.
