This thread has answered a question that has been in the back of my mind for years. That is: why did I receive a Yarborough with such a low serial number? 0084 in 2009? The "SF" explains it all. I knew it was at least a second offering to former SF guys. But the serial number was just one problem. I have two sons. Both want my Yarborough. Solomon's solution is non-applicable in this case. Some one in my SFA chapter told me about the "First in Asia" knife. Problem solved! (I never served in 1st SFGA, but the proceeds go to the First in Asia Fund, a worthy cause and made my boys quit fighting!) Another serial numbered SF knife I have picked up is the Larry Thorne/Lauri Torni Puukko. Again, divide and conquer. I have serial numbers 2 and 42. From the accompanying documents and conversations with the man that had them made, they were supposed to be awards for members of 10th SFGA. IDK if any were ever issued in that context. They advertised for sale in "The Drop" at one point.
