Previous surgical history would also support this theory re: blood transfusions.
I might be way off, but Arafat's most recent pics certainly are similiar to what you see when caring for pallitive AIDS patients.
I am NOT suggesting a conspiracy, "Arafat was gay," jump in logic, merely noting that the symptoms are very similar to non-cancerous, but familiar progression of immune defiencies and symptoms.
