Good morning Sir/Ma'am,
I am currently active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. I started my enlistment on a patrol boat USCGC ORCAS (WPB - 1327) where I did mostly law enforcement. I graduated from the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, South Carolina in 2010. I have done drug interdictions off the coast of Mexico and Canada as well as joint operations with the Canadian Navy. I am currently at a search and rescue (SAR) unit. I have been a Coastie for almost 4 years and due to the Coast Guard's unbelievably high retention rate, advancement has come to a screeching halt. So I'm jumping ship. The Army has offered me two options: 18X or go reserves and try to get activated. I think you all can guess which one I picked! The journey begins MAR '13.
OORAH!
