You have the option to make your own decisions...
You can base it off of what it put out through official channels.
or
You can base it off of people's opinions who have absolutely no authority and are themselves giving you their opinion of what they think or believe.
Should you choose option one, you will be right 100% of the time, or at least have a reference / leg to stand on if questioned.
Choose option two and risk getting sent home if SPC Tentpeg from selection class 4-11 was wrong about the cadre being lenient on the packing list. Or perhaps it was only HIS cadre, or the cadre changed, or decisions were made to no longer be lenient starting with your class, or any other host of reasons that send you home prior to ever getting started.
Why take the chance over a pair of "high speed" boots?
I've said it before, there isn't a piece of gear that is going to pass SFAS for any candidate....it is the man using it that get's selected.
