PS I did know a couple of people who used an E-tool to get the job done though.
I've always felt that if you have to pull out a knife to fight you've done SOMETHING wrong.

I used to carry a Fairbairn for sticking people, a Randall #14 for heavy field work and a demo knife.
I never stuck anybody but myself with the Fairbairn (opening mail).
The Randall was a good hacker and would open c-rats in case of no P38.
The demo knife probably got the most work.
What I'd like to see is a Fairbairn-Sykes style blade with saw teeth, a gut hook, hollow survival handle, laser pointer, magnifying glass and pliers made out of a special space age aluminum/platinum, kevlar alloy.
