The UN is a delegation of countries monitoring each other. They apply sanctions which are useless, because the UN has no way of backing up these "threats." Iraq, Iran, and North Korea (to name a few) are all countries who have been sanctioned and the sanctions have literally done nothing. Besides wagging fingers at people the UN has no real power, it was a great idea in theory but when you add the realities of life into the equation (not to mention political agendas), the UN is just a puppet.
