I'd tell their mothers (who they talked into, to buy them one), to just put away their credit cards and look at getting certified instead. Of course they didn't want to. They didn't want to sit through the classes and just wanted to do the "quick and easy route".
But if it works for you ... then more power to ya.

Really her Dive Buddy was nowhere to be found and she was out there alone......
You are right... Lots of people think get one and go swimming....... You are better that most LDS by turning them away....... You know most LDS's would not turn down the money.. GOOD FOR YOU....

. Only used it 2 times over the years and it paid for it's self...... It is part of my Boy Scout background (Always Be Prepared) and a little bit lazy on my part in regards to using my Twins or the Pony Bottle on normal dives..... I have practiced with it from 100' and can ascend and do a safety stop on the bottle. Used to have their military smaller version in our over water kit and that is where I decided to get one...... Fits into my overall kit and it is handy to clear my boat anchor and prop down here...... Always getting hung up on crap down here.......
Hay of you ever get tired of the cold it is always warm down here....
