But to give you some light in a nutshell.

Yes, most 68W's (and other medical MOS's if required) in the 538th go through Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM) IF they are assigned to a unit and slot that requires it. SOCM is the first 26 weeks of the actual 18D MOS portion of the SFQC.

Rangers, AF PJ's, SEALS, and some MARSOC go through SOCM also.

Females are restricted from going through this course, not to say none have done so, but it is on a strict case-by-case basis.
