Sometimes being an adult means more than you don't have to life with your parents.
You've talked with your friend and given him some words of advice.
You've done your bit, now lets see if he can cowboy up when the time comes. If he makes it through jump school the 82nd might find a home for him.
I can think of a lot worse places to spend a person's formative years. Division will make a man out of him.
