I'm a parachute rigger as well. I'm thinking of just cutting the drag strap across the back (behind the neck) and re-rigging so the straps cross across the back. Some of the 82nd radio operators I had took out the belt, zipped the front of the FLC together, and re-inserted the belt to snap and close in back (like a RACK).
