I've not found a reason for having a FLGR, yet.
That was the first thing I did to the SA TRP Operator that I purchased.

I'm not crazy about a FLGR in any 1911 handgun. It opens the frame and slide to increased debree and other fouling that the standard GI type guide rod spring plug does not during recoil of the weapon.
