Pts whos families are involved with their plan of care have better outcomes as do pts who are informed, assertive, and aggressive about there care.

It amazes me how much complaining and accusation I hear from pts and their families yet rarely do I hear requests for information or teaching.

I think that EMT-B and some sort of healthcare navigation course (ie medical terminology, A&P, insurance structure , benifits, and billing, ethics) should be mandatory for graduation from highschool much like drivers ed-
