To answer your question all true 1891/30's sniper variants have a bent bolt(which is I believe what you are referencing). This is to accomodate the 4x scope that came with them. The Hungarian model is an exact copy of this rifle and all came with this bolt. If you own one with a date stamp prior to 1930, it may in all actuality be a modified Dragoon rifle.

You can buy an aftermarket bent bolt conversion kit for extremely cheap. I put one on my 1944, but as stated above in this thread somewhat pointless to put a scope on the carbine as it kicks like a sawed of 12 gauge. If you want "accuracy", stick with the M91/30. It did Zaytsev well I suppose.

Bottom line, the Mosin is a fun affordable rifle. I picked up a M91/30 and M44 for under two hundred for the pair.
