Thomas Jefferson had the benefit of being a member of a generation who were willing to stand and die for their beliefs. They were willing to be ostracized by fellow countrymen and labeled a terrorist. They were willing to break the "law" to promote their ideology and move towards what they believed was a better way to govern.
I contend this generation of Americans is no longer willing to utilize the Second Amendment as intended by the Founders. I offer this observation by a respected member of lightfighter.net who also served in the U.S. military under honorable conditions. I think it speaks to the prevailing mindset of this nation and the loss of will we have today. (I have removed the explatives as they added nothing to the context of the message.)
The quoted text is in response to a query about what individauls would do if an AWB were put into effect with no grandfather clause. Whether you believe a non-grandfather AWB is probable (it is most assuradly possible), it speaks to the heart of the issue we face in this nation, which is the lack of moral courage.

Back to the gun control thing. This is primarily a military and police board. What answer do you think you're going to get if you ask a group of people like that what they'll do if big brother goes looking for everyone's guns? I'll make it easy for you, they'll continue to do their jobs. If they don't they will be replaced by people who will. That's how it works in real life. Any fantasies of general insurrection in the event of draconian gun confiscation efforts by some sort of national decree are just that, a fantasy. Because if you or anyone else thinks they are going to successfully take on a SWAT team or a squad of Infantry, you are either delusional or talking out of your <head>. If the .gov comes for your black guns, you won't leave the country or make an Omega Man style last stand. You’ll follow the law and complain about it, because that's how the world works.
Until then, don't vote for people who advocate gun control and don't start stupid walter mitty fantasy threads on this board.

We seem to have the courage of our convictions only if those convictions line up with the "law". History has established that the "law" is not always moral or ethical and can be detrimental to individual freedom.
