If that's the case, then if you put the tip of your schnoz on the back of the charging handle (a common anatomical reference point to produce a consistent cheek-stock weld), your eye should be further away from the optic than if you had a small nose. Have you tried moving the optic further down the rail and adjusted your cheek-stock weld higher or lower on your face to see if you lose the shadow?
