Tirofijo, Raul Reyes, Karina, AND let's not forget Rios' hand delivered by his tenientes along with his laptop. Pobresitos.

10 years ago many Colombians believed the FARC was la verdad El Ejercito Del Pueblo. Now, the cynicism is palpable. "Narcotraficantes, secuestradores, y teroristas," say the people these days.

4 major leaders in as many months - coincidence? I think this is the proverbial "wheels coming off the cart." I don't think the FARC is dead by any means, but I think they just may at this point have passed the point of no return in their decline.

Uribe's government is well aware that they've got to put pressure on them to the end. "We've got our hands around their necks, but we cannot let up until there is no doubt there is no life left in them," a highly placed person in the Uribe administration told me recently. I believe him and hope he's right.

Colombia is a beautiful country filled with terrific people. I'm hoping in 8 years we'll see the end of the FARC and a new era of prosperity in one of the continent's most beautiful and bountiful countries.
