I'm looking at Surefire now. I've owned a Knights .223 QD for some time and it's just a shitty can compared to the SWR Spec War II and the Surefire.
Joes rifle cans are a bit heavy but they are hot shit quite if the right ammo is used.
Did you throw in a "Gas Buster" charger with that shorty ?

I wouldn't say that the KAC M4QD is a shitty can. It was a great can for it's day back in 94 and if you wanted a QD, it was the only game in town. As a civilian, you will not get the level of customer service that you would get with another manufacturer such as AAC or SWR. The service life of the KAC can is not as good as some of the modern ones by those manufacturers previously mentioned; also the sound reduction is not as good, but is adequate for its intended purpose (well below the pain threshold and the sonic crack of a supersonic bullet in flight).
The Surefire is a great can (do a search on The Reaper's comments on the subject).
Orginally I wanted the option of a flip down FS, but the LaRue mounts the Aimpoint high enough so that the BUIS only obstructs my FOV by 1/4. I would prefer the durability of the fixed FSB (also, in a high-stress scenario, it is one less thing for me to have to worry about). The Troy BUIS is going on my SPR. The PRI GB is on order (wife and kids limits my toy budget).
