JPH, sounds to me like a classic case of over-training. Over training is a point where your ability to recover from excercise does not keep pace with your conditioning program, ie...the stress you put on your body and you actually get weaker/slower etc. Google "Excercise Tapering" then, sit down with a NLT or an event and do a little backwards planning for that event.
