I am running a KX3 on my Noveske Leonidas (a 13.7" 7.62). As TR says, it isn't a brake. If anything, it might actually increase felt recoil, but the weight largely compensates for that. It does a nice job of focusing the blast and concussion forward into a narrower cone, though, which is what I bought it for. JAGeorgia sat to my immediate right yesterday with the spotting scope and reported that he was more bothered by the guy shooting a 26" 7mm WSM about 20 feet from us.
