MG, I've never used one, but I do like the idea of a type of bandolier/sling bag for individuals to carry ammo/accessories for key weapons. If you are suddenly out of the fight, someone else can grab the bandolier/bag & weapon and quickly continue the mission. Folks that attach the bulk of key weapon ammo to their vests/dropleg panels/belts/etc. force the guy taking control of the weapon to dig around in their kit to gather things up, wasting precious time and possibly exposing more guys to fire. Sure, if your assigned weapon is a 203, SAW or 240, having a handful of ammo (6-7 eggs, 100/200rds link) attached to your body is a smart idea, but be sure that all your spare stuff is quickly accessible to anyone else in the unit should you go down. My thoughts, anyhow.
If the TT belt doesn't work out, another thought is a PALS bandolier panel you can sling over a shoulder. That way, you can mount 203 carriers, or SAW/240 200rd bags, or 5.56 mag pouches, or what have you, depending on your assigned weapon. Hell, you could also put a 200rd SAW pouch or MOLLE sustainment pouch and fill it with frags or bangs for a house assault. Versatility is a beautiful thing.
