Sorry, RL. What I meant was, if you don't want to ship it back to MSTN, give Randall at ar15barrels a call. He lists two addresses in SoCal, I wasn't sure which one was his shop. As you know, if he has an Assault Weapons permit, you can leave it with him, otherwise you have to be present while he does the work.

I bought my stock 16" LMT upper from him, he was very helpful. Since he has a good reputation for barrel work on ar15.com (FWIW), I was going to send it back to him to chop the barrel to 14.5" and blind pin and weld the Vortex. He only drills Phantoms, not Vortex (too hardened), so I ended up sending it to ADCO.
