Trying to identify leg problem

Hello:

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Last year when I was trainging up for Selection I had a period of about one
and a half months where my legs simply would lock up. The back of my legs from the hamstrings to my ankles became so tight it would take me a good
20-30 minutes of stretching just to be able to stand with my heels on the
ground and to get my knees to fully straighten only to hobble around until I
had to do it again. This wasn't a joint problem of any kind as there was no
swelling or pain coming from them.

I was simply running a couple of times a day, hitting the gym 6 days out of 7, and rucking every other day.

I have tried to find this on my own, but I have not seen anything directly associated to it. I have begun my training again to go back to Selection
so I am trying to see what I can find out in order to prevent from reproducing
the problem.
