Thanks gents. So, folks have had kydex gear crack or break in cold weather? I am being assigned some place tropical so that is not a worry for now.
Egg, the weapon is a G22. I want it just to the left of my belly button on the front of the vest. Not quite in the center, but definitely not under my left arm. I'd also like it at a 45 degree or so angle. Must have a thumbbreak.
The vest doesn't flex much. It is a concealable level IIIA that we stuff inside a carrier that has thick, soft trauma plates. As for other equipment... I'll have a radio pouch, ASP baton pouch, cuff pouch, pistol magazine pouch and most likely a mag pouch for a shoulder weapon. Problem is... I don't know where it will be placed as using the Molle setup is all new to me. I am thinking I need to leave enough room to have the M4/MP5 magazine pouch to the left of the holster (as I look at it) since I am right handed. I don't know that the other pouches will matter much so long as I can reach them. Of course the first time I go on a "real" arrest I may decide to move everything. Sucks starting from scratch again.
