Spinnaker repair tape is sticky - and cut properly will quiet the pulls, and give you the grab you want. Cheap fix too - try the Layline.com online store - they cater to sailors - I think the tape costs about $6 a roll, ripstop nylon, lots of colors - and I'm sure you'll find lots of other uses for it in the field.
