Nothing is realistic, not even the reloading. The top shooters are all using loads reduced so low that they are lucky the guns cycle each and every time. (I didn’t even know that made reduced slug loads until I witnessed people using them at this match.)

As I was watching some LAPD guys one came out and was laughing how he had lost a few seconds because he was “pieing off the room” instead of charging in.

It’s not that tough a competition, hell a 14 yr old came in 4th overall. (with a $70,000 prize table he did pretty well I’m sure.)
You just got to be fast, able to think on your feet and work well under pressure.

It's a game to a lot these folks. If you shoot combat style, you wont come close to winning!

I plan on shooting IDPA once I get back. So I purchased...

MATT BURKETT 2003 IDPA National Champion DVD series, volume 1-5.

They are shooting reduced loads to control muzzle flip and recoil...that's how they win!
