I doubt that this was just some guy who decided to discuss this with the press. I am thinking that it is more likely that this "leak" came from or even was ordered by someone very high in the food chain with the specific intent of embarrassing certain individuals or commands while maintaining plausible deniability. Backdoor politics at its finest. I can't tell you that you are screwing up publicly so I get someone to anonymously "leak" it to the press so that the word still gets out but my name is not attached to it. Or maybe I am just too cynical.
