ODA numbering

I hope this isn't too ignorant of a question but, how are ODA's numbered? I suspect the first number is the group.

For the rest of you, I have answered this question because bbdb has a need to know.

If you are just idly curious, you have no need to know.

The system provides us an easy way to bust posers, BTW.

bbdb is not authorized to tell you, so don't bug him about it.

Make your case to me or another QP if you think you can justify it. Don't waste out time if your case is weak. You will find out for yourself when you need to.

roger that, Sir. That's a good question and I never thought to ask it before so I'll go ask my ex husband, he'll tell me.

Just an interesting tid-bit. When I was in the 8th SFGA in 70-71 I was assigned to ODA-21(SCUBA). When I then went to Thailand I was assigned to ODA-21 (SCUBA) which was later re-designated SFT-43.

I believe the 5th in Vietnam began the systematic numbering of A-Teams. When I was in Germany the A-Teams were merely named ODA-1 thru ODA-36. I was on ODA-2. The C-Teams were co A,B and C and the B-Teams were B-1 thru B-9.
