all I will say about the course is that it is outstanding. They really have it down to a science and each and every soldier gets an honest and complete look at their potential to become a SF soldier. It was very cold and very wet but it just comes down to how bad someone wants it. I was fortunately selected and since I already speak spanish was assigned to 7th Group. Good luck to those who are going to attend in the future. Also future candidates do not PM me asking for any info on the course. It is best to just prepare yourself physically and mentally and take it as it comes because every class is different and you never know what they are going to have you do.

I took 2 years in high school and had a very basic understanding of the language. Took 2 years in college and learned quite a bit. But once I was in the army I kept teaching myself and using it at work with spanish speakers and I also dated a hispanic girl for 2 years. So I got alot of practice.

All language experience is taken into account. You have several opportunities to let this be known in SFAS. Also I suggest taking the DLPT test for any language ability before you go. THat is what helped me.

Good Luck.

Language Courses

The Rosetta Stone language courses are now available through Army E Learning at no cost. There are 28 different languages to choose from. Each unit is 4 hrs of credit and is very comprehensive.:D
