Gerber LMF II ASEK Survival Knife

I just received one of these in the mail... Apparently my wife's boss was given a couple to do product testing, and he generously sent one my way. It seems like a pretty nice piece of equipment. Feels substantial in the hand, the blade is viciously sharp, and I like the plexiglass punch on the butt. Also a plus is the molle-compatible sheath with integrated sharpener. The knife also has holes in the handle designed for it to be lashed securely to a pole as a spear in a survival situation.

I've mounted it onto my kit, and I'll report back on how it holds up.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this knife?

Keep me posted on how that knife works positive or negative.

Hopefully I've taught them well up there at Gerber.

Is this one you had a hand in designing Mr Harsey?

No I did not have any design influence on that actual knife.

I recently purchased one as well, and am currently waiting for it to arrive. However, I am still a fan of the BMF, which served me well growing up- I mentioned that to Bill already.
I'm glad to hear it's working well for others out there. I was torn between the LMF and something from Cold Steel, but after they sent me their video (LOL,) I couldn't bring myself to do it... Anyone else watch "MORE PROOF" without laughing? That pound of steel they call the 'Torpedo' being tossed by a rather rotund man at rubber rats? Absolutely Hilarious!
