Field Expident Zero Targets

5 of the black pasties used to cover bullet holes make a almost perfect 300m zero target. IE Kinda like this.

Not exactly Fieldcraft, but FIDCraft if you will. Ive been out places and ran out of targets, not had access to a copier or internet access ect. This will get you thru the zero part of teaching BRM if nothing else.

Edited to add that for some reason the board code will not allow the "Head" of my drawing to center,

PW,

Have you had a couple of adult beverages tonight? Cause whatever you’re posting there doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me….

Sure, blame the board “code” for your inadequacies.;)

LOL, I was trying to show 5 squares.

Here is a pic of what I was trying to show.

Team Sergeant 03-06-2004 23:28

OK then, here’s the Team Sergeants tip. Use the same 5 pasties and place them in five separate places on the paper.
Shooting a one inch square with a rifle and iron sights at 25 meters is what everyone should be trying to accomplish.

BTW, I use them all the time as 25m targets, cept I’m using a pistol.

I'm confused

Is the Team Sergeant saying this:

The same as Sacamuelas saying this:

About me: I am competent with a pistol
?

LOL... I can't believe I missed this thread last night.

Well, NDD, you answered your own question- HELL NO. HAHA

I said I am competent NOT on the same level as one of the countries highest trained warriors with 20+ years of training.

I will post a pic of the last 4 rd target that I shot on the FIRST day I owned the gun. This is after only shooting 170 rounds through it to get a feel for the pistol. I admit, I need some work but I will get there. Anyway, standing two handed w/o rest or lean at 20 yards... I believe the target would stil be be DEAD! LOL :D If I could just get them to stand still for a few seconds so I can aim!!! hahaha

Sacamuelas 03-07-2004 09:32

For all you pistoleros out there.. that target was a prime example to visualize someone who was not used to a match grade single action trigger on a 1911 verses the standard Berretta centurion crap trigger he was used to shooting. From what I know, it looks like I was heavy on the trigger finger pull which tended to drift my shots right... I shot like that all afternoon. Don't worry NDD- dry firing practice has already been started to rectify the problem. :D

You beat me to it!

I was just getting ready to critique your trigger jerking.

Good self-analysis, Tooth Doc.

It does say somthing about your shooting though when you bring a yardstick to measure your groups, though.

Im no SME, so I'll wait and see how accurate the experts think those targets are.

Sacamuelas 03-07-2004 11:30

DAMN... left myself wide open for a counter attack on that one. I scanned that pic at home for you guys. It was not a pic taken at the range. FWIW, I normally bring a microscope to the range to critique myself. ;) LOL

NDD... do all your targets always look like this? In my neck of the woods, chronic walking around with a bent wrist only means one thing... and it ain't shootin related :p LOL

I thought we were talking shooting, not sex.
