Anyone familiar with this caliber? How does it perform with recoil and accuracy out of a 8 to 10" barrel?


I saw this little beauty and thought that's what an AK PDW should look like with size and compactness. Forget the Ak in 9mm
My 7.62x39 PMPDW feels unworthy. Yea I've achieved circus monkey proficiency with it but by using the blind-you-at-dusk brake.

You referring to the 7.62x25 Tokarev or 7.62x39 Soviet?

The 7.62x25 is a hotter loading of the 7.63 Mauser cartridge for the 1896 Broomhandles. Cases are nearly identical but pressures are not. While I've got incomplete TT33 at home most of my experience was in the PPSh41 SMG. Iraq was awash with those guns early in the war. Czechs did adopt the cz52 pistol in it which was even hotter.

While not as common but not rare the Krink in 7.62mm is found throughout Afghanistan and Iraq.

If it's a hot load then it won't be as controllable as I hoped for (like the 9mm vityaz)

One of the interesting things about the 7.62x25 Tokerav is that they supposedly pierce soft body armor and kevlar helmets.

Being a bottlenecked round, I've found the CZ52 to be accurate, despite sights that suck.

I wouldn't shoot them at steel targets except rifle ranges.
