Jackson Blades

Looking at Christmas gifts and found this forge which deals in Damascus only.

https://www.jacksonblades.com/

Anyone dealt with them before? 176+ layers of steel, good or bad.

"Our Damascus steel is hand-forged out of steel sheets of grade AISI 1075 and AISI 4340." is this quality steel or run of the mill?

I have sent an inquiry and now waiting to hear back from them.

I don't know the company, but looking at their website, I notice a lack of information. They state a company location, but not where the knives are forged or who makes them. They appear similar in style to some of the overseas products I've seen advertised more and more recently.

TOG,

I noticed the similarities to the imported stuff on ebay. Not knocking the product, but it is also indicative of the price point.

Again, No a SPURT,, but the pattern looks like some I've seen that were twisted wire.

My expertise is limited to culinary knives and the classic French Laguiole knife with a wood handle. I came across the brand and ordered a folder based the the "Laguiole" with the cork screw attachment.

imho, its a bullshit knife knockoff.

FYSA.

I asked several questions and here is their response on the origin of the knives

"Our knives are imported.

We carefully evaluated a number of artisans and their products before selecting the one we are currently working with. They are located in Pakistan, in an area renowned for excellence in producing finely handcrafted Damascus steel cutlery. Handcrafted knife-making has been a cottage industry in Pakistan for centuries. The quality and hardness of the knives is very high and our pricing makes them affordable for many."

So much for buying from them.
