CZ83?
Does anyone have any experience with them? Would they be a decent carry piece to consider?
Thanks |

Probably a fine plinker, if you only had access to .380 ACP ammo. Otherwise, the 9x19 would be better in all regards, IMHO. TR |
I carry one or the other every day. If you can carry the 9, by all means do so. The only time I carry the .380 is when the situation dictates and that usually means extenuating circumstances. I shoot fine with it, but it's strictly a tool of necessity versus one of choice due to its physical size.
Unless you have a specific reason for wanting the .380, I would go with the 9X19. |
I picked up a CZ83 in Tolz back in 89' in .380 as ATF wouldn't allow importation of the CZ82 in 9x18 at the time. My youngest son still has it as he is left handed and used to shooting bowling pin competitions with it when he was 8. Its accurate, realiable and holds 13+1. As stated it will work if that is all you have but it's about the size of a G19/23, Smith 69xx/39xx series. The CZ83 was made in three chamberings. .380/9mm Browning the most popular, then .32 ACP/7.65mm Browning followed last by the 9x18mm Mak. There are slight differences between the 82/83.
