January 6, 2016* __________________________________________________ ______________ DoD Identifies Army Casualty The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel. Staff Sgt. Matthew Q. McClintock, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Jan. 5, 2016, in Marjah District, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when the enemy attacked his unit with small arms fire. The incident is under investigation. McClintock was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Buckley, Washington. ----------------------- Rest in Peace Brother. DOL |
