Hello All,

Ive been giving serious thought about going SF through the guard (There is a NG SF group in Camp Bullis). Im currently an Oil Engineer and there is a great variation in salaries compared to military pay. I have no prior military background and I just want to make sure I can keep up with bills during OSUT, Airborne etc. I have no issue getting rid of bills but paying them off is not an option. Will it look bad and possibly bar me from attaining the clearances needed if I have voluntary 'turn ins' on my credit report. Mainly a boat and possibly a truck...

Any insight or personal experience is greatly appreciated.

Sell the boat and truck, do not get them repossessed. You need to have a clean as possible financial record.

Bad financials can impact a security clearance.

I have an employee right now that had her clearance revoked completely due to financial problems. Hopefully she can dig out.
