I was under the impression the Col "Bull" Simons commanded the Son Tay raid?

Rest In Peace.

COL Sydnor was one of the three ground force element commanders. He had Redwine element, the security force, Simons was overall commander and had the Greenleaf C2 element. Meadows hit the camp itself with Blueboy and searched for the POWs.

Never had the honor to meet Col Sydnor, even though technically, he was my CO while I was in the 46th SFCo in 1973. Rest in Peace, Sir...
